World Dance Reviews
World Dance Reviews was started in August 2005 in response to:
- the declining coverage of the arts, especially dance, by the daily and weekly print media
- Thomas Friedman pointing out the world is "flat" and that communication around the globe is now virtually instantaneous, e.g., a reviewer in Mumbai, India can have his/her review to World Dance Review's Editor within an hour after written.
Readers especially like reading reviews on World Dance Reviews in part because all reviews are written by dance professionals. Reviewers' resumes are posted on the site. The resulting insights those reviewers provide goes well beyond that on many blogs, or even current, popular print media.
World Dance Reviews is a web site (www.worlddancereviews.com) designed to provide critical reviews of dance performances on a worldwide basis. We invite anyone to read these reviews absolutely free of any charge and to quote them as they see fit, always acknowledging the web site and the reviewer. Given the number of reviews we have posted on the site those reviews are on two different pages. By clicking the ‘Current Reviews’ button on the left, or bottom of any page will yield a listing of all the reviews posted within the last 180 days. The top of that page gives directions as to how to find and read any review in which you are interested. Clicking the ‘Reviews Archive’ button will take you to all reviews posted prior to the last 180 days. The ‘Reviews Archive’ is arranged in the same order the ‘Current Reviews’ are. Or, you can click on ‘Search’ and use the “pull down” lists provided, to search for reviews of work by various companies, choreographers, on various dates, or in various cities.
