Exploring Abstracts: A Search into Color and space
Landscapes initially were my exclusive interest in art. I was never totally satisfied with the results and I was always comparing my work to more seasoned artists. I started to realize that the landscape could be broken up into a series of simple shapes and colors and how the color I chose could show atmospheric perspective. Now, more often than not, my paintings are less about realism and more about color, space and form.
The feeling of space is my first consideration when starting a painting. After that, I explore color that will enhance and exploit the emotions I feel about this particular space. My sense of movement, direction and flow is articulated by the bold use of color and surface texture.

Art has always played a part in my life, but my focus changed dramatically when I moved to Longmont. There exists here a florishing cultural community that inspires and transforms both my work and my self. As a psychotherapist and traveler on this journey, I am in constant search for the essence of life. Art brings meaning, resonates in my soul, feeds it and gives me peace.
