BCAA Endowment Grants & Martha Kate Thomas Fund
Applications available online
Deadline to apply for both grants is April 7 at 5 pm

BCAA is currently accepting applications for its Endowment Grants for Operating Support and Equipment as well as for the Martha Kate Thomas Fund for Artists

Endowment grants are designed to assist organizations in realizing their mission or improving or expanding their services or programming. Individual artists may also apply for equipment support. In 2016, BCAA is able to increase the maximum award to $5,000, thanks to the support of the Hemera Foundation. Hemera, a family foundation based in Boulder, supports innovative organizations and initiatives that foster basic human goodness in individuals and society. In the Arts, Hemera supports visionary emerging projects and those at a critical stage of their development.

Grants for the Martha Kate Thomas Fund will be awarded to artists who live or work in Boulder County and who have unforeseen needs due to special circumstances. Some examples may include:

  • Not able to work due to illness or a loved one’s illness
  • Sudden increase in insurance costs
  • Sudden increase in rent
  • Unable to pay entrance fees for a competition
  • Loss of supplies due to theft, damage to studio, etc.
  • Purchase a piece of equipment integral to on-going production of one’s art
  • Modifying studio and/or repairs to supplies or tools, such as an instrument

Grants from this Fund will not exceed $3000.  BCAA is proud to administer this fund for the Community Foundation Serving Boulder County.

Two BCAA Fellowships in the disciplines of Media and Theatre are also available this round. These are unrestricted cash awards ($1,000) designed to further the established artist's career and to recognize artistic achievement through an accumulated body of work in the designated discipline. Every year, fellowships are awarded in different disciplines.

For more information, go to Grant Guidelines or Guidelines En Espanol.
