Subscribe and Submit to BCAA's Art Calendar

Make sure to check the Eventful box

In addition to this monthly e-newsletter, BCAA publishes a weekly Arts Events Calendar that comes out every Thursday. Subscribe to find out what's happening on the local art scene. Submit your events for free. Rather than (or in addition to) emailing Charlotte and Crystal personally about your event, submit it to the calendar. We wish we could submit them for you, but with the volume we receive, it's just not possible. And this way you take ownership for how your event is listed.

Google "Boulder County Art" and our calendar is the first hit - you will definitely reach a wider audience by promoting your event with us. Thanks to our wonderful IT Volunteer, Marty Wright, our calendar now has a more attractive grid format with images.

And did you know that when you add your event to BCAA's Art Calendar and check
the box "Add to Eventful" that your event will automatically be included in the Greater Denver Eventful calendar? The only catch is that the location for your event needs to be one recognized by our database, or the system won't let you check the box. If you want to add your location to our database, let us know in the section where you can submit a note to the Administrator.

The Community Opportunities Bulletin is published twice monthly and contains Calls for Artists, Calls for Entries, Job Openings, Art Items for Sale, Classes, Workshops, Auditions, Studio space available and more. Subscribe here and submit your opportunities for free.

Who's in the Limelight?

Michelle Bernier, Incoming Executive Director

Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema

Now in it's 13th year, the Sans Souci Festival of Dance Cinema has new leadership in Michelle Bernier. Longtime E.D. David Leserman is happily moving to an advisory role. Michelle recently received her MFA in Dance from CU Boulder, with secondary areas of focus in Digital Media Studies and Somatics. She is a dancer, choreographer, collaborator, and educator. This includes being a company member and board member for Life/Art Dance Ensemble of Denver, and also Tour Ensemble Director for Airborne Dance.

With an expansive definition of dance and an appreciation for highly experimental and interdisciplinary forms, Sans Souci exposes diverse audiences to a variety of film, video, and performance possibilities.

Thanks to grants from the Louisville Cultural Council and the Lafayette Cultural Arts Commission this year, Sans Souci has added screenings to local venues. On Saturday, July 16 from 2-3 pm, there will be short dance films at the Lafayette Public Library. This event is free and open to the public.
