DONATIONS NEEDED FOR COMMUNITY ARTS FUND
Help us reach our goal of $500
or maybe a stretch goal of $1,000

The Community Arts Fund is a vehicle for businesses, groups and individuals to provide much needed funding for Boulder County arts projects. Art created in the community, by local artists, supported by the community. Do you know a business owner who could use a tax write-off? Help us spread the word!

You may make a tax-deductible contribution online using a credit card (Mastercard or Visa) by clicking "Contribute to the Fund" in the Community Arts Fund widget on the left side of each page of the BCAA website. Each time a contribution is made to the fund the amount is automatically recorded and tracked. When the fund reaches the target amount, a Request For Proposals (RFP) will be advertised to the BCAA email list and posted to the BCAA website homepage.

The last organization to benefit from the Community Arts Fund was Boulder Opera Company, who used the money to present "Intro to Opera" workshops at no cost to the schools.

As of April 1, 2015, the current total raised is $123.00 CAF

BUSINESS OF ARTS - TIP OF THE MONTH
How to Master Facebook Marketing in 10 Days
by Andrea Vahl, Social Media Coach, Strategist & Speaker

You are probably already submitting your events to BCAA's Art Calendar, but are you posting them on Facebook? BCAA's Facebook Page is just clicks away from having 1,000 likes.  Help us reach this goal by "Liking" us!  Artists, patrons and nonprofits are warmly encouraged to post to our page, as well as comment on posts on our page.  If you get your friends and colleagues to "Share" your posts, you will reach exponentially more people. According to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center in September 2014, Facebook remains by far the most popular social media site. While its growth has slowed, the level of user engagement with the platform has increased.

Check out Andrea Vahl's ideas on how you can master Facebook Marketing in just 10 days.

WHO'S IN THE LIMELIGHT?
Emily Harrison

BCAA would like to send out a BIG THANK YOU to Emily Harrison for her tremendous efforts organizing Boulder Arts Week.  Emily has worked tirelessly to coordinate artists, venues, and sponsors to make this second annual celebration even bigger and better than last year.  She did all this without quitting her day job(s).  Emily is also Producing Artistic Director for square Product Theatre and a Professor in the Department of Theare & Dance at CU and for the School of the Arts at Naropa University.

Emily grew up in East Texas (so that's where that accent comes from!) and holds an MFA in Performance from the Savannah College of Art & Design, a PhD in Theatre from the University of Colorado Boulder, and a Bachelor's in Acting and Writing from Emerson College. With square, Emily recently appeared in Ham McBeth (as Ham Jones - bottom image at the right) as well as in SLAB; Peggy Jo & the Desolate Nothing; 5 Lesbians Eating a Quiche; Gidion's Knot; The Ding Dongs (or What is the Penalty in Portugal?); and Songs of Meat & Cake. In 2013, Emily was featured as #67 of Westword’s "100 Colorado Creatives" series. Take a minute to read her insightful answers to the Westword interviewer's questions.

If you know someone who should be in the Limelight, shoot us an email.
