The Community Arts Fund is a vehicle for donors to provide funding directly to art projects in Boulder County. The following list of frequently asked questions explain more about the fund.
BCAA's core values are inclusive, innovative and accessible. We are particularly interested in funding projects that speak to these values. Be sure to review the guidelines before submitting a proposal. Like most BCAA grants, the Community Arts Fund is a member benefit.
What is the Community Arts Fund?
The Community Arts Fund was established as a vehicle for businesses, groups and individuals to provide much needed funding for Boulder County arts projects. Art created in the community, by local artists, supported by the community.
Who benefits?
Artists benefit from an infusion of money for their projects.
Everyone in Boulder County benefits from the tax revenue generated from the production of these projects.
If you or your business/group donate the full amount awarded, you can determine the nature of the project that is funded.
You or your business will benefit from the tax deduction.
You or your business will receive publicity as a donor through a listing on the BCAA website home page and other BCAA materials.
How does it work?
Each time a contribution is made to the fund the amount is automatically recorded and tracked. Everytime the fund reaches the target amount, a Request For Proposals (RFP) will be advertised to the BCAA email list and posted to the BCAA website homepage. The proposal deadline will be three weeks from the initial posting of the RFP, and a panel will determine the winning submission within a week of the proposal deadline. Proposals will only be accepted electronically in the form provided on the BCAA website.
Are there any fees?
There are fees associated with your contribution. 95% of the donation goes directly to the Community Arts Fund, 5% supports the administration of this fund, covers the credit card processing fee and other BCAA artist support services.
How can I contribute to the fund?
You may contribute online using a credit card (Mastercard or Visa) by clicking "Contribute to the Fund " in the Community Arts Fund widget on the left side of each page of the BCAA website.
Or, you may call in or mail a contribution to the BCAA office and designate that the donation is to be applied to the CAF. Please make checks payable to "Boulder County Arts Alliance."
Who benefited from the Community Arts Fund this year?
In May 2016, Dancer Maren Waldman of Moving Joy Studios received $500 to cover lead artist fees for two dance/nature workshops offered to seniors living in low-income residences in Boulder County. Her Postcards to the Earth workshop uses movement, time in nature, reflection, and crafting to develop and enrich relationships with self, earth, and other.
