Show Statement

As an artist moves through life they discover and rediscover what gives them drive to work. The process can see high work output and lulls that last for months. Through this process it is an artist’s mission to continue a workflow and ultimately find new muses to channel the work. “I spent a lot of time the last three years working on creating paintings.” This process gave me lots of joy until it didn’t, something just flipped, like a switch.” Maybe I needed time to question everything.

Project Symptoms of Mundane aims to find beauty outside of the studio. Using multi-media collage, Carson is redefining his esthetic and creating a more holistic work life practice. “Maintaining a conversation with art and questioning the status quo is something I wake and sleep with.” This attention to detail and original style can be applied to all things. In an attempt to move more gracefully through life.

Artist Bio

Carson Besser was born in Los Angeles and raised in Boulder Colorado. He is currently based out of Salt Lake City working trade jobs and pursuing art. “In a digital age, analogue mediums have become a means to reconnect, wabi sabi style. All the work came from a place of love, honesty, and intention.”
