SMiLE + Kevin Falco, two very different artists with a shared intrinsic focus on the importance, strength and meditative qualities of process, and a skilled attention to detail bordering on the obsessive. Vision in Process highlights these two artists, both currently local to Boulder but international in their scope and breadth of work and practice; one adept on the streets of Paris, Bologna, Mykonos; the other in some of the most exalted contemporary art institutions and ateliers.

Biographies and Statements:

As a child, SMiLE received a thorough Classic Art Education, 10 years of it, and by his late teen years was getting paid to play college sports while exasperating teammates with a steady torrent of pastel drawings of rolling bucolic landscapes. He has traveled to remote communities around the world in search of the intangible, finding himself with a family in a dusty village in northern Yemen, on his knees in their ancient barren mosque, trying to follow along with the strict eurythmic prayer ritual, dancing on tabletops late at night in Mykonos; pushing boundaries and studying consciousness, reading hundreds of books on Art Theory, spirituality, philosophy and, as a breather, biographies for inspiration. Ultimately his searches led him inside, to simply a radically different perspective, a sense of camaraderie with everyone and everything. A warmth in his heart, and a sense that wherever he stands is home. The seers acute awareness that all the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely players - a thrilling realization of his role on that stage: SMiLE.
