Creative Musical Theater Day Camp!

This one-week day camp introduces students to the exciting world of musical theater. Students will create and perform an original theatrical production based on a popular fairy tale (past productions have included Cinderella, the Bootmaker & Elves, the Pied Piper, and more) .The music will put a new "spin" on the story: you might see the Three Little Pigs as a Western, complete with hoedowns and country waltzes, or Rapunzel set in the Mississippi Delta with wailing harmonicas and blues laments.

Students will learn the basics of composing, as well as the dramatic elements of theatrical music. The participants will serve as narrators, actors, and musicians in a final performance for family and friends. 

Faculty members include composer and music director Max Wolpert, vocalist and choral conductor Jenna Palensky, and world-music specialist Teresita Lozano.
